ANDRE SARAIVA

ANDRE SARAIVA — MR. A COLLECTION

We’ve long admired the mischievous, top-hatted Mr. A character created by French artist André Saraiva — a wink, a grin, and a piece of graffiti history.

André was the first street artist to paint a character rather than a tag, redefining graffiti culture across Europe in the 1990s. His smiling alter-ego, Mr. A, soon became one of the most recognisable icons in street art.

When Sarah Andelman, co-founder of the legendary Parisian concept store Colette, suggested a collaboration between AoPP and André, we didn’t hesitate. Colette inspired a generation of designers, and this project brought together three creative worlds united by a love of colour, culture, and play.

The result — a limited-edition ping pong art collection featuring ArtTables, ArtNets, and ArtBats — captures the spirit of André’s universe: playful, cheeky, and unmistakably Mr.A.

About Andre

André Saraiva first made his mark through graffiti, becoming one of Paris’s most prolific street artists. His decision to replace a tag with a character — the now-famous Mr. A — changed the language of graffiti entirely.

Over the past three decades, André and Mr. A have appeared in countless international exhibitions and collaborations with brands including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermès, and Supreme. His work has been shown in museums and galleries around the world, from Paris to New York.

For André, every venture — whether art, nightlife, or design — is part of one ongoing artwork: a life approached with a wink and a sense of play.
