A little while ago, we spoke with a few ArtTable owners from around the world to gather their perspectives on what it's like to own an ArtTable. I’ve summarised a few of our key learnings below for you.

Is it worth it?

It depends on what you value; only you can genuinely answer this. 

But what we know is that our customers are searching for something original. They appreciate a unique, handcrafted piece that stands out and is not commonly found in homes.

They want a conversation piece—a focal point that encourages social interaction and storytelling.

Customers often tell us they love surprising their guests with its dual purpose, making it a conversation starter and a source of ongoing fun.

Is it well made?

Will this actually get used?

As a ping pong fanatic myself, I wasn’t interested in creating a novelty product we would soon become bored with. The gameplay had to be enjoyable and had to match the quality of the art on the wall.

We believe the unique combination of art and functionality adds a layer of excitement that traditional ping pong tables simply can’t match. There’s a reason people say ‘functional art.’ It draws you in. What starts as decor becomes an invitation — a game played over coffee, a moment shared, a new ritual.

“My son’s a good player. On a full-size table, I can’t get anywhere near him. However, the smaller table means you have to be a bit more considerate. So it’s a real leveller! And the great thing is he still loves to play on it!” — Gary

Is it a good gift?

“I was actually telling a friend about the ArtTable. I said, Oh my God, you've gotta see this. It's like, I've ordered it, it's coming. Will it fit my space?

All traditional ping pong tables are large, cumbersome items that are hard to store and ugly when folded away. And we believe that if something is out of sight, it is out of mind, so rarely ever used.

I don’t know your brand. How can I trust you?

While many large brands prioritise mass production, we focus on quality over quantity. Each ArtTable that leaves our workshop is personally finished and packaged by Caroline, my partner.

ArtTables have been sold at Selfridges, Mr Porter, Harvey Nichols, and various other leading retail stores, most notably at the Conran Shop, which has long been at the forefront of British design. Therefore, for a design-focused brand like ours, it was a moment of pride to be invited to create a complete collection of our products for them. For us, that represented the ultimate seal of approval.
