In the build up to Wimbledon 2016 NikeCourt x Roger Federer unveiled their new collection at NikeLab 1948 in Shoreditch London. For the launch event we were asked to create an installation of bespoke ping pong bat artworks to adorn the space.
We worked with Toby Melville-Brown to create sixty one-of-a-kind bats that are on display alongside the new collection of Roger’s tennis clothes. The art piece focused on four imaginative stories that captured aspects of Roger Federer’s career and interests. Celebrating Roger Federer’s eye for detail and his individual approach to the NikeCourt collection they created personal touches to make this piece, and each bat, truly unique.
As part of the legacy of the project Nike kindly donated the bats to our 2016 Art of Ping Pong charity auction, with the money being donated to The Federer Foundation.
